VACANT POSITION: RECORDS MANAGEMENT OFFICER

Our client Catering and Tourism Development Levy Trustees (CTDLT) is a body corporate which was established under an Act of Parliament, Cap 494 Laws of Kenya under the Ministry of Tourism. CTDLT vide this Act is charged with the responsibility of implementing the mandates of levy collection, tourism training development and establishing and developing national standards for testing skills required in the tourism industry.

CTDLT has taken a lot of strategic initiatives as part of business improvement in various functional cases. One of these areas is in Human Resources where the organization is endeavoring to ‘Get the most out of the people’. In view of this, the organization is seeking for the services of a highly motivated, proactive and energetic individual for the post of Records Management Officer.

Reporting to the Human Resource and Administration Manager, the successful candidate will be a person of considerable practical experience, high personal integrity and good moral standing with creative, innovative abilities as well as, Management skills.

Duties and Responsibilities of Records Management Officer:

  • Develop a comprehensive records management programme for the organization.
  • Develop, implement and audit systems and procedures for management of records.
  • Plan for appropriate accommodation for records.
  • Train all members of staff on relevant records keeping systems.
  • Initiate the disposal of records in line with laid down Government procedures.
  • Prepare annual budget for records management activities and operations.
  • Carry out records survey and appraisal.
  • Prepare records retention and disposal schedules.
  • Supervision, guidance and development of staff working under him/her.
  • Any other duties assigned by Management
Qualifications a records management officer:
    • A degree in Information Science or equivalent from a recognized University.
    • A Post graduate diploma in Archive and Records Management will be an added advantage
    • A certificate in Computer applications from a recognized institution.
    • At least three years relevant working experience with good knowledge and skills in electronic records management
    • Demonstrated professional competence in management of records.
    • Any other qualifications in a related field will be an added advantage.
