The CTDLT fraternity attended the COYA Gala Night to held on Wednesday 2nd November, 2011 at the Paradise Theme Park, Safari park Hotel Nairobi, the organization is in agreement in seeking “Total Commitment to Organizational Excellence” as a culmination of the OPI assessment for 2011.
CTDLT garnered 2 awards namely:
- Judges Award – for The most Promising Organization
- Runners-Up Manager of the Year 2011 won by ms Flora Ngina Ngonze the ICT Manager

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am excited that CTDLT has been recognized as the organization that has made the greatest improvement towards excellence in the year 2011 in the just concluded Company of The Year Awards. (COYA)
My uttermost gratitude goes to the Parent Ministry, The Ministry of Tourism, the entire Board Of Trustees, our esteemed Stakeholders and The CTDLT fraternity for reaching this far.
When the Board of Trustees took the decision to subject ourselves to the OPI process 2 years ago, it was with full recognition that there was need for a framework to enable the organization achieve its mandate. This process allowed us to establish our organizations’ preparedness and transforming our self’s to embrace the new expanded mandate in the Tourism sector.
Moreover, the OPI process has allowed CTDLT to focus on its seven key business drivers towards excellence, which include Leadership and Management, Human Resource Practices, Customer Orientation and Marketing, Financial Management, Corporate Citizenship, Innovation, Productivity and Quality.

The OPI report has pointed out our strengths and weaknesses in the various determinants. We are committed to improving by conducting appropriate corrective actions with a view to improve the overall Organizational performance .We are proud of our achievement so far. As an Organization we are encouraged and we shall continue to implement the good practices and hope to excel in future awards. Our key focus is to serve the industry and the country at large to the best of our capacity.

I am honored to chair the OPI Champions committee of the Catering and Tourism Development Levy Trustees (CTDLT). The team has done a commendable job in this year’s (2011) Organization Performance Index (OPI) assessment, considering our performance in the previous year (2010). It has all been shear hard work by the entire CTDLT’s fraternity.
