Report On X-Mass Luncheon and Presentation Of Long Service Awards
The End of Year Staff Luncheon 2010 took place at the prestigious Nairobi Safari Club in Lillian Towers. The event’s aim was to celebrate the achievements and strides that CTDLT made in 2010, and also award the Best employees and long service awards to member’s staff.
The function was a resounding success, with the arrival of the Guest of Honour, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Tourism, Ms. Leah Adda Gwiyo together with her team, The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Anania Mwaboza along with the Board Members, who included:- The Principal of Kenya Utalii College Mr. Kenneth Ombongi, Mr. Martin Ole Kamworo, Chairman of Finance Committee, Mr. Saad Faraj Chairman Audit Committee, Mr. Wycliffe Anyasi, Member of the Board and Ms Ann Musau Alternate To the Permanent Secretary.
While welcoming the Guests to the luncheon the Chief Executive, gave a short speech in which he thanked the Minister of Tourism, Hon Najib Balala for his tireless and passionate execution of the Ministry’s responsibilities, the Assistant Minister Hon. Cecil Mbarire who has always been with the organization,The Permanent Secretary for her open door policy in seeing him without any appointment together with the whole fraternity of the Ministry. The Chief Executive also thanked the Board of Trustees for their continuous guidance, and the members of staff for their support, more so having managed to collect 1 billion up from 36 million collected during the month of February, 2008. He encouraged members to maintain positive attitudes, values, and remain total quality people with proper focus.
The Chief Executive then welcomed the Chairman of the Board Mr. Annania Mwamboza, who in his speech, recognized the developments CTDLT has made, namely the Board’s approval for the establishment of a new office block, and the Board’s mandate to establish Ronald Ngala Utalii College, which will be based in Kilifi. The Chairman informed members that the Board is committed to build capacity and uplift the structure of the organization and lastly praised the members of staff for the hard work put in during the year; nevertheless members were challenged to work even harder during the coming year. The Chairman then welcomed the Guest of Honour - the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Tourism.
The Permanent Secretary’s, main focus was on the tourism industry and the achievements made by the organization, notably the training of the Board and Management on Risk Management, and the Establishment of Ronald Ngala Utalii College.
She congratulated the organization’s sterling performance in the year and also urged that the same should continue even higher as the organization is set to transform in the coming years through the Tourism Bill.
The event thereafter continued with the culmination being the presentation of Long service and the Best employee of the year the awards, and lastly cutting of the official luncheon cake.
The function was a resonant success for everyone involved and in attendance, and it is with certainly that all look forward to the CTDLT End of Year staff luncheon, 2011!
The Function was replicated in all the regional office where the message of the Permanent Secretary, The Chairman, and the Chief Executive was delivered by the Senior Management.
